The spread of Zika virus

Zika virus was first detected in Uganda, Africa, in 1947. In 2007, there was an outbreak in Micronesia and Polynesia, South Pacific. Now, there is an epidemic in South America such as Brazil. We suspect it causes birth defects like small head. We hope that the Malaysian Health Ministry takes preventive measures against Zika.

Datuk Seri Najib cuts 2016 budget 3.6%, from RM267.2 billion to RM257.7 billion. To keep the people's welfare, please don't reduce allocations for education, health, Audit Department and Anti-Corruption Commission.

Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Amin says InvestKL attracts RM 5 billion investment from 50 Multinational Companies and Pemudah from Prime Minister's Department belps to simplify license application procedures. We hope that KL will attain world standard in 2020 and problems such as traffic jams and floodings are solved.

Calligraphy,eradicate the root cause of a problem.

The calligraphy is a quotation from Zuo Qiuming's Chronicles, over 2400 years. It means getting rid of the root cause of a problem. For example, the 1MDB event affects Malaysia's image. To restore the national image, we must eradicate the root causes.

Oversupply of oil

International Energy Agency (IEA) says oil market could drown in oversupply. The price is USD28-30 a barrel. Major producers such as Saudi Arabia, Iran and Russia produce more oil even though there is oversupply and the price is lowest in 12 years. This is bad for Malaysia, but good for oil importers such as China and Japan.

Malaysians fear terror attacks. So far, the police manage to get information and detain suspects before they act. Indonesia did the same thing. But two days ago, suicidal attacks occurred in Jakarta. We hope that police can improve intelligence system and terror prevention.

Transfer of teachers in Malaysia

Malaysia Education Director General of Education Dato' Sri Dr Khair says that teachers can apply for transfer three times a year instead of two (January, April and September) and that 'generalist teachers' have the advantage. Let it be seen that the decision on these transfers is fair.

We hope that Datuk Seri Najib will not reduce the allocations for certain delattments such as the National Audit Department with RM163.8 million and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) with RM251.8 million that has been reduced by RM42 million from RM294 million. These are important departments for transparency and accountability.

Sudden appearance of telecom towers

The photograph shows a telecom tower which suddenly appears at North Fence Road, Jinjang North. Tan Seng Giaw (standing in the middle) and residents could not find the name of the company that owns the new tower. Similar towers come up at Jalan Kepong Baru and Laman Rimbunan.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall has regulations for towers. We hope it will tell us what actually happens and the effects of magnetic radiation on human.

Media reports that about 40000 security guards are illegal in Malaysia. Datuk Seri Zahid promises to investigate. We hope that he explains how many guards have been trained properly. Will they replace the police or the Government provides opportunity for security companies.

Zidane, the new coach for Real Madrid

Real Madrid is a very famous football club in Spain. Florentino Perez has been Its president for 12 years. He has sacked 10 coaches, the last one being Rafael Benitez. Now, he has appointed Zenedine Zidane (Zizou) as coach.
     Zizou was an outstanding French player, serving Real Madrid as a player for five years and as a coach for its youth team. As rivals Barcelona  dominate, can he make Real Madrid win?.

Malaysia has Education Blueprint. Yesterday, over five million pupils went to schools. Big tuition companies arrange buses and vans to carry students. Small centres use other ways. How many students depend on tuitions?

Over 5 million students go to schools

Today is the first day of school for over 5 million students in Malaysia. The new Education Blueprint is being implemented. Can over 400,000 teachers deal with the blueprint and the students? For example, an adult may not understand the work given to an 8-year-old. Parents send their children to a second school: a tuition centre. The number of these centres increases.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall and canopy

City Hall has regulations for hawkers. On 1.1.16, it presses petty traders to have canopies or large umbrellas, each costing over RM200. Those on sidecars have difficulties carrying the large object. City Hall must reconsider various aspects including business being not so good.
