Ceramahs: Dr Tan Seng Giaw

In the Kepong Constituency, it is a straight fight between DAP's Dr Tan Seng Giaw and Gerakan (BN)'s Lau Hoi Keong

Since 24.2.2008, Dr Tan Seng Giaw has held four big ceramahs and multiple small ones. Further ceramahs will be as follows:

3.2.2008 The Playing Field, Jalan Prima 2, Metro Prima, 7th Mile Jalan Kepong.

5.3.2008 The Playing Field, Jalan Bengkudu, Kepong Baru.

6.3.2008 The Main Playing Field, Jinjang North.

Dr Tan has raised issues in politics, economy, culture, religion, education and so forth, such as the need to have a strong opposition, the fight against inflation, religious tolerance, the eradication of all forms of extremism and efforts required to make Malaysian universities attaining world class. Now, in the World Univerisity Rankings, none of our universities are in the top 200.

Hi Tan,

Hope you will win in Kepong, since my family is from there. However, it is saddening that I can't vote because I am overseas, and when you are overseas, only government students and staffs can vote. Can you bring this up, and try to get clarifications from the EC on this matter? I am sure there are many Malaysians who had migrated to work and study are very interested in the politics back home. We have a right to say which government we want, especially since we left due to the non conducive environment back home!

I have written on this to The Star but was not published (expected it actually). So would appreciate your help here.

Thanks & Good Luck.

Hie Dr. Tan,

I'm living in Kepong for 30years. However, recently, our area - Taman Kepong has been a high crime area whereby almost everyday there will be a house break-in including myself. Is that any way you could help us?

Thank you

In view of Betty Chew's landslide victory in Kota Laksamana. Goh Leong San should step down in favour of Betty Chew to be the next Melaka state DAP Chief.

We want Teng for Selangor’s DM. Why are there speculations that he is excluded from the list of candidates? Please do not think we’re saying this because we’re his supporter. We support DAP, and we honestly think he is the best candidate.
This is in regards to this paragraph in The Star’s article ‘Tussle for DPM post’ :

When told that many people felt Teng was a suitable choice to be made Deputy Mentri Besar, Liu replied: “One has to identify who the people are, are they his people, or my people, or who?”

YB Tan, my apologies for leaving this message on your blog.
----------------------------

DAP !

I am a Chinese who voted for your party and I am utterly disappointed with your action to boycott the swearing in of the Mentri Besar.

1. You have slighted His Royal Highness, the Sultan of Perak, since it is your party which agreed that they would abide to the choice of Tuanku.

2. You have sown the seed of discord to the opposition cause and threw away a golden chance to the concept of Bangsa Malaysia regardless of race, class or religion.

3. By being the largest group in the coalition, PAS cannot initiate any Islamic policy without your consent. Can't you understand this SIMPLE logic ???? BODOH KA YOU ORANG ?

4. Saudara Lim Kit Siang,

It is through accidents of history that chances are given.
No one expected DAP nor the opposition to win big and since win big you people did, you need to seize the opportunity of a lifetime to make the change for generations to come by putting good governance above fears.

The People have overcome their fears to give your party and the opposition such a chance.
A chance that you and I may not get again in our lifetime.

It is rude to boycott a swearing in ceremony among political enemies (like UMNO in Penang), it is suicidal to boycott the swearing in ceremony of a political friend.
Moreover, it is also very disrespectful to Tuanku.

Do you still want UMNO to be the winner against the choice of the people ????
Please knock some sense into the heads of your party members/leader.
You need to threaten to leave DAP and take the party down with you if party members disobey.

YES, it is as serious as this !!!

If you people destroy the people's trust, I swear I will NEVER vote DAP again, ever as long as I shall live.

Dr Tan,

I must let you know that out of the 6 students that I spoke with, 5 have already made up their mind to leave Malaysia whenever they are of adult age; to pursue education overseas and to choose a country where they can reside at a later stage. How on earth did the Malaysian Government come to this stage where school children as young as 13 years old are already thinking about leaving the country. Good governance stems from a passion for service excellence. Obviously, in the case of Malaysia it has failed. When will Malaysia ever qualify to compete globally?? How?? Talents have left, is leaving and will leave. Almighty God help us.

Dr Tan,

Do you think that Kepong needs a fair bit of clean up. Can we do this as a community project like 'Adopt a Tree' project? We need more greens. Cleanliness tells a lot about a place and its people don't you think? Toilets and other public amenities.. and the streets in general.

tzarina, I am not taken by surprise that your comment was not posted in The Star. If the Malaysian environment is conducive for living, no one would immigrate. So sad, yet so true. I have posted a comment that school children have already decided to leave this country at an age as young as 13 years old! So, where will Malaysia be in 10 years time?? God help us.., really!

However, i would like to kindly ask for your office location and service hours. Also, please do provide us your email, tel no, so that we could reflect to you of any problems.

I am happy to see that malaysians are willing to pay first step and urge for changes, and so i wish in this coming five years you can try as best as you can to prove to us that DAP is capable to govern our country.

I would also like to address to you that the issue of increasing of crime rate in kepong is a severe problem and wish that you could find a way to settle it and bring us good environment to live in.

Thank you.

Have you read MT posting on "PKR invites Umno for talks on NEP " ?

1)…Sabah Progressive Party president Datuk Yong Teck Lee said he was puzzled why the NEP was still an issue when it had been replaced by the

..’National Development Policy’(NDP)…

.. TUN DR M launched the “NDP” which year ?

2)…“so called cancellation of the NEP” was completely redundant because it no longer existed and it was equally disappointing that Penang Umno was still harping on a non-existent policy.

3)…no wonder that some politicians both from ruling and opposition have lost focus on which policy to talk about,”

Someone from Sabah talk sense..... My Sabahans friends are laughing at us .

Syabas. Barisan Rakyat.

Dear Dr Tan
I need to raise the issue of cleanliness in taman melewar business center. There has been a lot of rubbish throwing around the food stalls at taman melewar. Can we do something to make selangor particularly looks clean and beautiful? Can we fine the food seller for not taking seriously on the cleanliness around their food stall areas.
thanks tq
