Calligraphy

  The calligraphy shows a teacher must have respect and dignity-- a quotation from Xun zi, Chinese philosopher 2300 years ago. He believes that a person is born bad and must be taught manners and punished for doing wrong. Confucius (Kong zi, about 2500 years ago) believes that a person is born good.
     Last week Welfare, Family and Women Minister Datuk Rohani talked about enacting laws to ban caning of pupils. This has sparked furore.
