Prevent Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD)
Since the beginning of this year, there are over 35,000 cases of hand,foot and mouth disease (HFMD) in Malaysia. Children are susceptible: virus causes mild fever, mouth ulcers and rash on hands and feet. Saliva and faeces of patients contain the virus which spreads by contact. Schools, government departments and parents must cooperate to keep up the hygiene. Patients must drink water. All must wash hands with washing fluids or soap.
