Malaysia Civil Defence Force as forest rangers

Minister Hon. Arau tries to convince the House that Malaysia Civil Defence Force is capable of becoming voluntary forest rangers to help prevent illegal logging.

We must overcome the problems of laws,  training and allowances.

At least 50% land are covered with trees

46 Malaysian hospitals over 50 years old

The Deputy Health Minister tells the House that many hospitals in Malaysia need renovation such as 46 hospitals over 50 years old.  We need over RM300 million to do so in order to prevent such incidents as fire at Sultan Aminah Hospital, Johor Bahru.
   We hope that the ministry carry out renovation works effectively.

Cyber crimes

Malaysian police show that in 2016, there were 11,186 cases of cyber crimes, incurring losses of about RM213 million, compared with 9,085 cases and nearly RM179 million in 2015.
   The people must be aware of these crimes. The police must step up efforts to prevent them.

Drug addicts and traffickers

Drug is an international problem. Datuk Nor Jaslan tells the House that there are 30,886 addicts in Malaysia in 2016. We do not know the number of traffickers. We hope that all programmes including Perangi Dadah Habis-habisan (PDH) continue to be carried out seriously.

National Dairy Board

Datjk Seri Najib announces setting up National Dairy Board, hoping to improve the dairy industry such as the consumption of fresh milk going up to 50 littres per capita a year. Several ministries such as education will be involved.
   There have been dairy projects in the last four decades. We hope that the Government has effective measures for the dairy industry. Please don't waste.

National Housing Council and six enhanced measures

Malaysian National Housing Council has approved six measures to enhance National Housing Policy (2018-2022) such as helping people who cannot afford to buy houses.  The Government has spent RM6 billion to build affordable houses.
   Please implement the policy fairly and effectively, for example, the 1000 units People's Housing Programme in Sri Aman, Kepong.
