Integrity for all projects to help people

Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khaled has suspended all federal projects in the state including roads and infrastructure, pending an appeal against a High Court ruling that the Sepang Municipal Council had no authority to issue a notice to remove the Automatic Enforcement System (AES) cameras. How many contractors for these projects are appointed as a result of open tender? How many projects are implemented truly to help the people? How much of the billions spent are value for money? The Selangor Menteri Besar is trying prevent the public for having been short-changed.

Open tender for all school projects

The saga of Proton

Since 1983, the saga of Proton reminds Malaysians of the huge amount of public fund having been ploughed into the company. It has done badly. DRB-Highcom Bhd has bought 42.7% stake in Proton Holdings Berhad from Khazanah National Berhad. The public is desperately wanting to know how many billions of people's money have been used to maintain the national carmaker.

Better road maintenance

Works Minister YB Datuk Seri Shaziman says there are 144 black areas where the risk of accidents is high in the Peninsula. The  allocation for road maintenance in these locations was RM25 million. Now it is RM60 million. The allocation for federal roads is RM37.4 million. The efficiency & quality of maintenance must be improved. Similarly, Malaysian local authorities should upgrade their road maintence service, otherwise multiple holes on the roads make motorists anxious.

RM726 million allocation for Syabas

PM YAB Najib allocates RM120 million to Syabas, Selangor Water Company in addition to RM606 million to help overcome Selangor water problems. This is an interesting statement. The Selangor Government is capable of taking over the management of Syabas. Najib must explain to the people the nature of the water problems, including the ways to keep the privatized company.

Preserve religious & racial harmony

PM YAB Najib talks about sensitive issues and preserving racial and religious harmony. All Malaysians must find ways to keep the harmony. Although he comments on a certain group using sensitive issues for short-term gain, he would have to show to the people that he will act on those inciting racial and religious feelings without fear or favour.

Allocation for security in the Federal Territories

PM YAB Najib realizes the security as one of the main issues. He gives additional allocation of RM5 million to the 1 Federal Territory Security Fund. While all must be concerned with security, we hope YAB Najib shows the people the effectiveness of the measures taken including the relevance of guarded neighbourhoods.

Frog Virtual Learning Environment

MP for Kepong Dr Tan Seng Giaw calls on the Education Ministry toexplain to the people the purpose of erecting tall electric poles within state schoolboundary to avoid misunderstanding.

Many Malaysians are suspicious of tall electric poles, big cablesand large aerial discs. They are afraid of radioactivity.

On 1.2.13, Dr Tan issues a statement after investigating thecomplaint from residents about the tall electric pole within the La Salle primaryschool in Jinjang North
There are about 10,000 schools in Malaysia. In the past year, tallmetal poles have been appearing within state schools. This week, after seeing atall pole within the La Salle school in Jinjang North and the Tamil School inTaman Sri Segambut, residents are anxious to know whether these have anythingto do with aerials for a private hand-phone company.

After discussion with La Salle school and 1 BistariNet, we havebeen told that the company has been appointed by the Education Ministry toprovide high-speed 4G mobile Internet and Frog Virtual Learning Environment for10,000 schools. We have heard the ideals of access to world-standard learningtools, transforming education, integrated learning solution and equipping thefuture generation. We follow up, wanting to know if these ideals are seen inreality. We look for evidence of the world-standard education.

The Education Ministry should explain to the people as tall polesare erected within schools to ally their fear of radioactivity.
