     The nine US Supreme Court judges serve for life, touching American lives. Federal Court judge Brett Kavanaugh (52) is a nominee for the Supreme Court. Professor Dr Christine Blasey Ford was brave to appear at the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, accusing Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct 36 years ago. This had drastically affected her life. Kavanaugh denied the allegation vehemently. 21 senators on the committee have to decide.

China badminton open, Changzhou, women's singles final: Carolina Marin (Spain) beat Chen Yufei (China), 21:18, 21:13. They were good. Marin showed tremendous confidence, experience and temperament, overwhelming her opponent. Yufei will train harder.

     On 8 September, 2018, Naomi Osaka (20) is the first Japanese woman to be the US Open tennis champion, beating Serena Williams.
     Watching the match, we saw the determination, the coolness and the discipline. Serena was fined US$17,000 for the controversy during the match.
