The Sabah Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) reveals irregularities. The Attorney-General says the Government will take appropriate action. Malaysians would like to know the types of action. Meanwhile, there is a call for RCI on Peninsular and Sarawak immigration.

Change is critical

PM YAB Najib tells Malaysian youths that change is inevitable & critical. Let us look at all the sectors including civil service, economy and  education and think seriously on how we can effect changes. There are 1.46 civil servants in Malaysia.

Improve the maintenance of high-rise flats

Dr Tan Seng Giaw calls on Housing and Local Government Ministry and the Kuala Lumpur City Hall to improve the efficiency of maintenance of high-rise flats,relieving residents of multiple problems.

The number of high-rise flats increases in the whole country. Hence, the Government promulgates laws such as the Local Government Act to monitor the management of these flats, including the formation of Joint Management Corporation (JMC). There are flats which face difficulties: some residents pay monthly subscriptions. Some refuse. As a result, JMC does not have enough money for maintenance.

Blocks A, B and C, Taman Fadason, Jinjang North, present recurrent difficulties such as leakage at the 18th floor, sanitation, electricity and water supply, parking spaces and crimes. Very soon, water and electricity supply may be cut off.

We have informed the City Hall about the above-said problems. We continue to follow up.

In December last year, Parliament passed a bill to amend the Local Government Act.  This included the steps to improve the effectiveness of JMC. We would like to see if the City Hall is as confident as the Housing Minister in the enforcement of the said amendment.

Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Coimmission (ICMC)

We have called for the setting up of an Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission(ICMC). Now, there is the alleged police killing of a security guard, C. Sugumaran, on 23 March, 2013. The IPCMC issue resurfaces. The Home Ministry should ensure that the case is throughly investigated. One way of making sure that the police are seen to be fair is to form an effective IPCMC.

Look at all sectors

BN prattles on getting two-third majority in the coming general elections. But then, electors are looking at the performance of the Government in all sectors including the economy and the education sectors. After analyses, most people understand the credibility of the Government despite the crowing about transformation & the hogging of the traditional media. Let Malaysians judge after getting more reliable information.

KL City Hall must improve the implementation of projects

The 2013 KL City budget is RM2.188 billion, inlcuding RM700 million for development. But, development projects tend to have problems such as delay, cost increase and abandonment. For example, the bridge linking Taman Emas and Metro Prima collapsed about three years ago. We discussed with Public Works Department of the City Hall about building a new bridge. After much delay and dithering, works on the new bridge began on 16.4.2012 and completed in December 2012. It took over two years to implement the bridge project costing over RM1 million. The Deputy Federal Territory Minister announced in parliament that the project cost RM3 million. KL City Hall must announce the actual cost of the bridge.

TNB must improve its service

According to media report, the nett profits of TNB may be RM4.2 billion. In the past 8 years, it suffered the loss of RM168.51 million because of theft of cables & in 2010 & 2011 it faced the difference in the capital for importing energy substitutes amounting to RM3.69 billion. Apparently, Petronas may compensate RM1billion. We hope TNB clarifies these figures.

Besides the profits, TNB must improve its services, including its attitude towards electricity users, fairness in it charges & in dealing with those who steal electricity.

The Attorney-General & AES summonses

The Attorney-General says that the magistrate courts have frozen the proceedings against Automatic Enforcement System (AES) summonses, but these summonses are not annulled. He must explain to those car-owners who have received AES summonses on how to deal with the matter, consistent with a fair & just judiciary.

Immigrants registered as Malaysian voters

For several years, we have raised the issue of immigrants registered as voters. Now, the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on illegal immigrants in Sabah shows some immigrants received blue identity cards within 10 years having been in Sabah in the 1980s & the former Sabah Registration Department Director Datuk Abdul Raub Sani admitted issuing ICs to Muslim immigrants.
There is a need for having RCI in Sarawak & the Peninsula to find out how extensive has this practice been in the whole country.

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission（MACC）must be independent such as being a service commission, responsible only to Parliament. It needs more staff members and financial allocation as well as the amnedment to relevant laws. It can then be compared with ICAC of Hong Kong.

To improve public perception of  MACC, it must be seen to tackle corruption cases effectively, especailly high-profile ones.

Media on people's feelings & aspirations

PM YAB Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak has urged the media to play the role of an intermediary that delivers the feelings and aspirations of the people to the government. We can see clearly some traditional media do not always report these things such as the massive people's rally at Merdeka Stadium yesterday. Although there will frequently be unfair criticisms, a clean,effective democratic & trustworthy government tries its best to encourage as true a media report as possible.

The rally was meaningful

Although some traditional media lack enthusiasm in reporting the massive rally at the Merdeka Stadium yesterday, the rally was meaningful. It showed that Malaysians wanted a new form of government which was able to start dealing seriously with major issues such as corruption, leakages, bureaucracy,lack of transparency, national debt & unbalanced national budget. Pakatan Rakyat is competent to take over the federal government from Barisan Nasional.

Klang Valley water supply

The Selangor Government is prepared to take over from Syabas the water supply service in the state. The issue of overused pums and piping raises doubt among the public. They would like to know the truth. Meanwhile, there must be genuine efforts to ensure adequate water supply in the Klang Valley.

The rally must be peaceful

The People's  Uprising Rally in Stadium Merdeka tomorrow will be attended by the public who believe in peaceful struggle. It is hoped that the police will be monitoring persons who deliberately want to cause trouble. Pakatan Rakyat members will avoid non-peaceful activities.

National education standard

PM YAB Najib prattles about knowledge & education standard as the main core. While people like to see the raising of education standard, they wonder how he can do it. How does he improve the quality of teachers. They do not want the repeat of the failure of the project to teach math & science using English after sending over RM6 billion.

Let the people look at all fields

DPM YAB Muhyiddin praises BN for creating prosperity & peace. Let all voters look at various fields including corruption, economy, education, labour, oil & gas. They want to know the seriousness of bureaucracy, leakages & the lack of value for money, the management of budget & national debt.

Be more prepared for disasters

PM YAB Najib states that the unusual floodings in Malaysia are due to global warming & monsoon. There are natural disasters which cost at least USD487.2 bil in the world. We must try to reduce manmade factors such as poor irrigation. There must be better preparedness to deal with various disasters and to reduce the sufferings of the people.

Need more information on KLIA2

PM YAB Najib says the new low-cost airport, KLIA2, will be officially opened on June 28, 2013, costing RM3.8 bil.It was due to be completed much earlier at a lower cost. He must explain the reasons for the delay & the increase in expenditure.
