Malaysians must pay attention to the standard of lecturers in foreign university campuses. Are the degrees from these campuses recognized in the original countries?

Malaysian Higher Education: British university campuses

Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh says the 5 UK university campuses in the country place Malaysia as educational hub in the region. UK External Affairs and Commonwealth Minister Hugo Swire praises the quality of our universities. The British have 109 universities. How many more of them will set up campuses in Malaysia? Besides commercial values, how many will undertake meaningful research projects which are important in improving the standard?

Malaysian Higher Education: assessment?

We would like to see improvement in the standard of  higher education and we aviod blowing our own trumpet. Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh insists on our universities being at par with those of advanced countries. He goes for favourable statistics. For instance, he quoted Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings with University of Malaya (UM) at number 151. He forgets other systems such as one of the most prestigious Shanghai Transport University Rankings: UM gets better from 401-500 in 2011 to 301-400 in 2014. Other local universities are not in the list of 500 Universities.

The Malaysian police say that between 2011 and 2014, 7239 children and youths disappeared. The reasons include finding freedom, jobs , friends and lovers. How many join IS in Syria and Iraq or the criminal world?

Kepong Beringin Incinerator project: Maintenance of Transfer Station

The maintenance of the transfer station and the transport of rubbish continue to give rise to problems. Residents face pollution such as the stench. If the Government campaigns against illegals, foreign workers disappear temporarily. The Solid Waste Management Department must take effective actions.

Higher education in Malaysia: better standard?

We like to see Malaysian universities having international standard. The Second Education Minister talks about higher education in the country being comparable with that in developed countries. Most of the 135,000 foreign students in the country are in private institutions connected with advanced nations. Education is a form of business. The minister can count the number of Malaysian students in overseas universities and how many have returned after graduation. A million remain in developed countries?

Immigration Department always faces difficulties. Then. applicants have complaints about bitter experience with it. Datuk Seri Zahid must look seriously into the matter. It is time that trustworthy staff personnel are posted to the relevant section.

Where is the aircraft? The Transport Ministry has declared the disappearance an accident. Some victims' families are unhappy with it. 21 families from China have protested. How many more? The authorities must give them special treatment.

Floods: 2600 new houses

Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Yakob says that 2000 units of houses by the Federal Government and 600 units by the State Government will be ready by June this year. We hope that the distribution will be truly fair, irrespective of political and religious affiliations.



On 18.2.15, the police detained a girl, aged 14, as she was boarding an airliner to Egypt to join IS. For every person detained, how many slip through?

Special incentives for health workers including doctors?

Ketua Setiausaha Negara Tan Sri Ali Hamzah says special incentives will be given to health workers including doctors who are willing to serve in rural areas, Sabah and Sarawak. The ministry must review whether they are treated fairly.


The jewels of tourism need promotion.

Pulau Langkawi is beautiful. It needs promotion. We remind Tan Sri Muhyiddin: there are many locations in Malaysia such as forest reserve FRI that have potential. They also require more aggressive promotions with special allocations.

Police must be paid reasonably. Some police are good.  Some are open to temptations. The public can imagine. Deputy Commander Datuk Zubaidah talks about investigating police who have unusual wealth. People are only interested in effective action irrespective of ranks.

We want a good bus service. We encourage people to take a bus. Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) considers MyBas service: the Goverment absorbs operation cost, collect revenue and pay operators to run services. We are waiting.


Prices of goods: replace middlemen?

We avoid racial remarks.How do Federal Agriculture Marketing Board (FAMA) and National Plantation Body (NAFAS) replace middlemen to ensure reasonable prices? Middlemen can do as they please.

Prices of goods: PM Najib satisfied?

Datuk Seri Najib went to the Seri Serdang, Seri Kembangan, night market  and is satisfied with the price of wet goods and fresh fish. If so, he should advise his minister to stop raising racial remark when talking about prices. We would like to see clean and effective enforcement.


The case of Anwar: The Apex Court has jailed him.

The Federal Court rejected the appeal by Anwar and jailed him. The decision saddens many.


BR1M: 1 Malaysia aid for the people.

The Government says that BR1M is to help people who are easily affected by the rising prices of goods. BR1M 2.0 gave RM2.6 billion to 6.5 million receivers and BR1M 0.3 is estimated to cost RM3.4 billion for over 7 million receivers. Does the uncertain economy affect the allocation?

Home Minister Datuk Seri Zahid says that his ministry monitors activities to recruit Malaysians for IS and IGP Tan Sri Khalid reveals that the police have detained a 45-year-old man, who was an ex-commander of IS, in the country. He is from the Middle East. We hope that the ministry and the police are effective in their work.


Foreign workers: Malaysia and Indonesia MOU

Prime Minister Najib and President Jokowi discussed many issues including workers such as domestic help and memorandum of understanding signed by Malaysia and Indonesia in 2011. There are various problems such as bureaucracy during applications and the rate of payment. Both countries must implement the proposals in the MOU.

The Central Government sets up a secretariat to smoothen and expedite the management of rehabilitation works. We hope that it will be effective. Datuk Seri Najib meets President Jokowi to discuss important issues. We believe that the problems of Indonesian workers are touched on: bureaucracy such as in Immigration Department, opportunists, the rate of payment, the conditions for approval and the reasons for more illegals in the country.

In the 2015 budget, SME Investment Partner Fund is RM375 million. How do SME get the loans. The Government must review the problems of SME. How many middlemen has the Government appointed? For a middlemen, the commission is 30-40% of total loan?

We are waiting for the report on the causes of the monsoon floods in Malaysia. We are aware that the sea level is going up. This may affect millions in Malaysia and billions in the world.


World Cancer Day: We can prevent cancer (n ot beyond us).

An estimate shows that about 40,000 Malaysians have cancer every year and millions of people in the world. We can prevent them such as by stopping smoking. Tobacco causes about 20% of cancer deaths.
