British Parliament began in 1707. In the past three years, Brexit has made Britain and her Parliament very devided. Now, Boris Johnson becomes Prime Minister. Angry words such as humbug, too cowardly and surrender are used in debate.
Since 1957, occasional angry words are heard in Malaysian Parliament.

Trump says: "I know about environment, more than many people." What does he mean? Disasters like haze, forest fires, typhoon, floods, drought, islands under sea water and starvation?
     Millions of people on earth take part in climate protests, urging governments to do something such as preventing forest fires that cause haze.

      Today, the United Kingdom Supreme Court returned a verdict that parliament suspension by Boris Johnson was unlawful. The prorogation would deny parliamentary scrutiny. Parliament comes back. The Prime Minister insists on Brexit with a deal on 0ctober 31, 2019.

Spanish world badminton champion, Carolina Marin had serious right knee injury on 22.1.2019. She kept practising with her hand. On 22.9.2019, she fought hard in the final of China Open, Chang Zhou, against the defending champion, Tai Tzu-ying. She emerged the victor in three games, tears flowing down her face. A true sportsperson is determined to overcome obstacles.

     Melaka Government wants to replant forest trees in catchment areas where there are plantations. We hope the wish is fulfilled. Many areas such as Ulu Muda, Kedah, need meaningful protection. It is Penang's catchment. All catchment areas must be gazetted and safeguarded.

Today, millions of school children and adults in 162 countries protest against the lack of effective action against climate change in the world.


Over 2,400 schools closed

Over 2,400 schools are closed in Malaysia because of haze. Some say that the nation needs effective laws to punish culprits who burn forests. Meanwhile, rainy season is not here yet.

Wrong perception on haze

Forest fires and haze are due to many factors such as slash-and-burn, peat and hot and dry weather aggravated by climate change.
     I thought haze issue could be solved quickly. I made a mistake. President Joko says he wants to do something, but forest fires in Kalimantan and Sumatra make life difficult. We must overcome several things like old practice, poor enforcement, climate warming and diplomacy.

     In the US Tennis Open Men's Singles Final, Nadal overcame Medvedev by a whisker in five sets. The Spanish tennis veteran maintained his stamina, skills and mental strength over the young Russian.
