The calligraphy shows a quotation for Confucius Analect

The writing means follow the rules, not cutting corner. Home Minister Datuk Seri Zahid proposes a decent campaign for the Permatang Pauh by-election. Will all the parties follow the proposal? Which party will be the first to break the rules?

Permatang Pauh by-election

Cultural heritage

Cultural heritage belongs to mankind. It should be protected, such as Jawi. Plunderers from West and East have destroyed or stolen cultural heritage from various countries throughout history. Now, militants have damaged Assyrian or Mesopotamia 3000-year-old heritage in Nimrud, Northern Iraq: a war crime.

Calligraphy: Too many evil deeds ruin the doer.

The quotation is from the over 2500-year-old Zuo Qiuming's Chronicles. In history, there were many massacres such as Nazi Germany killing six million Jews and Japanese Militarists carried out the Nanjing massacre. In 1948, the British Colonial army Scots Guards shot dead 24 villagers in Batang Kali. On 22 and 23 April, 2015, victims' children appear at the British Supreme Court in London, appealing for a full inquiry of the incident. They seek justice and truth.

Chelsea is more likely to be league champion. But anything cam happen. Manager Jose Mourinho says: "Football is talent, but strategy is also important." MU possessed the ball 70% of the time. Manager Louis van Gaal insists," We played the best match of the season. But in football, you can lose in spite of being the better team."

The calligraphy quotation is from Confucius Analect

The calligraphy means handsome is as handsome does. The nation requires stringent laws to handle extremism such as militancy like Prevention of Terrorism Act ( POTA). Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib and Home Minister Datuk Seri Zahid have repeatedly promised against the abuse of these laws. The Government had said it would repeal the Sedition Act; but it has kept and amended the act. Will successive governments abuse drastic laws?

Will Prevention of Terrorism Act, 2015, be abused?

I said in Parliament:
A nation needs draconian laws to deal with bad people such as muktajilah, deviation from true religion. I hope the Government will review Article 4, Procedure before Magistrate, and Article 13, Power to order detention and restriction, in the Prevention of Terrorism Act, 2015 (POTA).
Will POTA be abused? I reminded the Home Minister Datuk Seri Zahid that not so long ago the Government promised to repeal the Sedition Act, 1948. But it has not kept the promise.
The Internal Security Act, 1960, had been abused. It was to fight the Communists. In this House at this moment, Gelang Patah and I were detained under ISA. Tunku Abdul Rahman said: " My Cabinet colleagues and I gave a solemn promise to Parliament and the nation that the immense powers given to the Government under the ISA, 1960, would never be used to stifle legitimate opposition and silence lawful dissent."
The minister replied that Tunku was speaking to the Opposition. ISA was used to detain people who disturbed public order. When he was leader of UMNO Youth, he was also detained under ISA. Having been rehabilitated, he is a minister.
